CANCELLATION, MISSED LESSON, AND HOLIDAY POLICY
Enrollment Cancellation30-day notice cancellation of your plan is required via email to arlingtonheights@schoolofrock.com
Missed Lesson Policy
- If a lesson is canceled by the student with 24 hours notice given (via email to arlingtonheights@schoolofrock.com), you will be issued a "student cancellation" makeup lesson that will expire after 2 months. Each student will only be allowed to have 2 "student cancellation" makeups on their account at a time.
- If a lesson is canceled by School of Rock for any reason (e.g. teacher illness, inclement weather, etc), we will provide an "everlast" make-up lesson at no additional cost. This makeup lesson will not expire, and there is no limit to amount of "everlast" makeups on your account.
- School of Rock will not reschedule lessons due to house band shows or all star conflicts.
School of Rock Arlington Heights is closed on Memorial Day, Independence Day (and possibly adjacent days), Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Black Friday, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day (and possibly adjacent days), New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day (and possibly adjacent days). These holidays are built into our tuition, as well as 1 inclement weather day. No make ups will be issued for these instances.
School of Rock cares about the safety of the children who come to our Schools and participate in our events. In order to ensure that School of Rock is a safe environment for our students and their families, we have established the following Codes of Conduct. Please read this document thoroughly and sign where indicated. As parents, guardians, and children involved with School of Rock, it is essential that you understand these rules and commit to abiding by them.
VIRTUAL LEARNING & FORCE MAJEURE
In the event of an emergency or unforeseen circumstance (e.g. weather events, flooding, hazardous damage to school, epidemic or pandemic, government mandates, or other force majeure), School of Rock Arlington Heights may temporarily close its physical premises indefinitely. During such times, all instruction and programming will continue virtually.
PARENT/GUARDIAN CODE OF CONDUCT
Parents/Guardians are expected to:
- Exercise appropriate, safe, and non-disruptive conduct at all times while on School of Rock premises or at School of Rock events.
- Respect teacher time and arrange discussions in advance.
- Not disrupt instructional time.
- Pick up children promptly; late pickups may result in a fee.
- Ensure students remain on premises while waiting.
- Exhibit mutual respect, civility, and orderly conduct at all times.
Prohibited behaviors include:
- Threatening, harassing, or intimidating anyone.
- Using vulgar/obscene language.
- Damaging property.
- Violating any laws or ordinances.
- Smoking, using tobacco, or illegal drugs.
- Consuming alcohol on premises.
- Disrupting School of Rock events.
STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT
Students must:
- Engage in safe, non-disruptive behavior.
- Abide by the zero-tolerance policy on alcohol, drugs, and tobacco.
Prohibited behaviors include:
- Disruption of programs or events.
- Possession or use of drugs/alcohol.
- Smoking or vaping.
- Fighting, bullying, or harassment.
- Property damage.
- Viewing inappropriate content.
Disciplinary actions may include conferences, suspension, expulsion, or law enforcement notification.
VISITOR CODE OF CONDUCT
Visitors must:
- Follow all management directives.
- Exhibit safe, respectful behavior.
Visitors may be asked to leave or present identification. Failure to comply may result in removal by local authorities.
Prohibited behaviors mirror those outlined in the Parent/Guardian Code of Conduct.
STAFF CODE OF CONDUCT - NON-FRATERNIZATION POLICY
Staff may not:
- Communicate with underage students outside of official School of Rock business without parent knowledge.
- Meet with students privately or off-site without parental and supervisory approval.
- Give lessons or teach music outside the school setting.
- Visit students at home or travel alone with them.
EAR PROTECTION WAIVER AND RELEASE
Due to amplified sound exposure, ear protection is required during rehearsals, shows, or any activities involving sustained sound. Students without proper protection may be asked to sit out without refund. By signing, you accept the risks and waive any claims related to hearing damage.
PERMISSION TO USE STUDENT PHOTOGRAPHS, VIDEO, AND AUDIO
School of Rock may photograph and record students for promotional purposes. By signing, you:
- Waive claims related to image/audio/video use.
- Allow use of name and likeness in media and marketing.
- Understand this permission remains in effect beyond enrollment unless revoked in writing.
PROHIBITION OF DRUGS, ALCOHOL, AND TOBACCO
School of Rock enforces a zero-tolerance policy. Violations may result in:
- Expulsion from the program.
- Notification of authorities.
- No refunds for expelled students.
Parents must discuss this policy with their child and reinforce its importance.
SHOW FEES
Each non-houseband show has a one-time fee to cover associated costs.
